Cable

 

Definition: A nickname for the GBP (British Pound Sterling) USD (United States Dollar) currency pair. It came about because the currency pair was the first ever to be traded by telegraphic, transatlantic cable.

 

 

Additional Info: The term Cable can also refer to the GBP in any pair/ cross. E.G. Cable/ Yen refers to the GBPJPY cross.
