the name suggests, Charles Dow invented this index in 1896. It
is a price-weighted average of top stocks traded on the NYSE and
NASDAQ. |

Even
though the S&P500 is now widely regarded as the benchmark
index by professional traders (because it represents a wider cross
section of the market), the DJIA is still the most watched Worldwide. It is often referred to as ‘the Dow’. |
