Tue Jan 29	02:00	US President Bush Speaks - Bush will speak at the State of Union address to a joint session of Congress. At this time he may also announce a stimulus package for the mortgage industry and again make a case for previous tax cuts to be made permanent.
Wed Jan 30	19:15	FOMC Discount Rate Announcement - The FOMC will announce the Discount rate at the same time as the Interest Rate Statement is made. The discount rate is the interest rate charged to commercial banks on loans from the Federal Reserve Bank.
	20:30	BOC Deputy Governors Jenkins & Murray Speak - Jenkins (Senior Deputy Governor) will deliver a speech entitled "The Impact of the Appreciating Value of the Canadian Dollar on the Canadian Economy" in front of Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology, Ontario. He will be accompanied by John Murray, Deputy Governor.
Thurs Jan 31	12:00	SNB Board Member Jordan Speaks - Jordan will give a speech titled "Monetary Policy and Financial Markets", Zurich.
Fri Feb 01	All Day	OPEC Meeting - The Organization of Petrolium Exporting Countries (OPEC) will hold a meeting in Vienna. The meeting is expected to include discussions on a range of topics, most importantly whether to adjust OPEC members' oil production. It is normal for OPEC representitives to talk to the press throughout the day and hold a press conference at the conclusion of the meeting.
