the needs of advanced users who need an extensive guide to the
week’s coming data. We provide details on releases that influence
all major currencies, including: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, AUD,
NZD and CAD (3-letter
code list).
For each piece of economic data we provide you with the following:
- An advanced definition using our Financial Terms Dictionary
- The expected market volatility each data
announcement is likely to create
- Previous figures - what was the
reported figure at the last release?
- Expected figures - how do analysts
expect the data to come out this time?
- Actual figures - updated throughout
the day
- Revisions to previous releases are also indicated
Once the current week has come to an end the calendar is added to
the archive section to make it available for reference.
Economic Speeches and Comments
The forex market doesn’t just watch economic data; every
week there are speeches, press conferences and comments made
by government and central bank officials and economists. Traders
keep a close eye on these events and are usually looking for
any insights into economic conditions, inflationary/ deflationary
pressure and future interest rate announcements. Just as our
economic and forex calendar keeps you up-to-date with data
our economic speeches section delivers information on what
can be expected over the coming week in terms of official statements
(archive included).
Bank
Holidays, National Holidays -
Banks and Exchanges Closed
A useful feature, as well as indicating national holidays in our
economic calendar we have them listed ahead of time for the coming
year. On these dates stock market exchanges are closed and there
is likely to be very little volume entering the foreign exchange
market from these territories. When volume is light price action
tends to stick to a tight range but it can become sporadic should
any large orders go through. By using this feature you will be able
to identify these dates ahead of time.
Holiday
Calendar 2007 - Holiday
Calendar 2008
Once a day (Mon-Fri) we publish our daily report which gives
a round up of the last 24 hours in the forex market. The report
is a professional summary of economic releases, how data has
influenced price action, news stories and speeches and the technical
picture.
